Review of Zoning Regulations for Seismic Area on the Southwest Coast of Sumatra, Indonesia

<p>Regional Indonesia is one of the countries with high seismicity as it located in Ring Fire. This article describes and analyzes regulations concerning earthquake- prone areas on southwest coast Sumatera Island, particularly Bengkulu. Earthquake disaster-related data are taken using library method from several previous research results and<br />disaster reports government agencies. The result shows that medium-risk earthquake hazards dominate Bengkulu City. Several policies urban land use issued, but they must be further harmonized disaster mitigation objectives. Almost all moderate seismic hazard area, so general rules parameters required for classification structure; this a to<br />ensure case earthquake, human lives protected. Detailed spatial plans zoning become essential documents can regulate detail, accompanied by calculations related to density environmental conditions area given provisions.</p>
